A poem by Guru Dev Kaur

You wear a gold khanda,Yeah that makes you a Sikh,
Erm, wrong actually you look like a freak.
You say Guru cares about whats inside,
You say that while your face is full of drunken pride
Sikhs don’t cut their hair, but you do and your proud,
When theres a bhangra gig your at front of the crowd
Raj Karega Khalsa, you shout when your drunk,
Khalsa means pure, not drunk as a skunk,
You claim IM SIKH when goray attack
So why go against your Guru and turn your back?
You don’t agree with Amrit, its only for fanatics,
But you do Matha Tek to the Gurus to forgive your unsikh antics
You say aunty ji and uncle ji to respect your Punjabi backgound,
But do you think of that at the weekend,
getting drunk and falling on the ground,
You wear a bandana coz it makes you look black,
You chat up goris to get them into the sack.
You have a khanda ring, to prove you’re a Sikh,
But in the Gurus eyes, bling is NOT chic,
You eat meat and relish the taste of sin,
Then you come to Gurdwara and throw your langar in the bin.
You laugh at turbans, you think they look dumb,
But then you wear a pink one at your marriage to please your mum.
You act like a Hindu, but laugh at Shiva,
At least a Hindu follows their preacher,
You drink alcohol, against what Guru says,
But how can you com[promise your Punjabi ways?
You laugh at girls who keep their hair,
You wear light foundation so that you look fair.
You shave your legs just to look hot for some guy,
Then at Gurdwara you act all shy.
You come to Gurdwara to catch up on cheap gossip,
You style your hair so it looks like a mop.
You wear make up to disguise your true skin,
But in Sikhi, all this is a sin.
You say Sat Sri Akal, Yet you don’t know what it means,
You forget all that when your partying in your tight jeans.
You can respect your Punjabi culture 100 percent,
But when it comes to Sikhi, where has your love went?
For your wedding, you do it in front of Guru and you wear the colour of red,
But you don’t even know why you are bowing your head.
Guru Granth Sahib, is to you just a book,
To know a Guru, its at pictures you look.
To be a Sikh, follow Guru you must,
You need to earn back the Gurus trust.
Stop all this drinking and messing around,
Its at the feet of the Guru true happiness is found.
When you say IM SIKH, say it with truth,
Not with a mouth smelling of vermouth.
Bow your head in respect to a Guru you love,
Don’t do it just coz some aunty gives you a shove.
You deserve to be happy and live a beautiful life,
With Guru Sahib always by your side.
Its your choice to be who you want to be,
But remember, Punajbi culture, aint ANYTHING like SIKHI!!!!!!!
